The National Senior Certificate (NSC), locally known as a Matric, is a significant achievement in that it signals to learners and guardians that the individual has successfully completed his/her required years of schooling.


Umalusi has been encouraged to improve the waiting period for processing certificates, as Grade 12 learners have been waiting a long time for their certificates.


Monday saw the beginning of the May/June matric examination period. This year, almost 300 000 candidates are sitting for this exam.
