Minister Mchunu has confirmed that many workers in the public service sector will be returning to work. The Department of Public Service has now released measures that have to be followed by national and provincial departments in order to manage Covid-19 with the easing of lockdown restrictions.


There have been many debates about the payment of school fees during the lockdown. In the event that parents are unable to pay school fees, the law offers some guidance for learners attending public and private school.

Lindiwe Zulu, The Minister of Social Development, has addressed concerns about SASSA payments during the lockdown. This includes the announcement of new collection dates for elderly and disabled recipients of grants.
