matric pass rate

The DA announced that South Africa's 2020 matric results are not accurate as it does not truly reflect the number of students who are failed the 2020 NSC exams in the country.

The Western Cape Education MEC, Debbie Scafer says the provincial department is very pleased with the results achieved by the 2020 matrics. The province placed third in the country for their overall pass rate.

Education unions, Naptosa and SADTU have said that they are pleased with the 2020 matric results despite the drop in the pass rate, which was expected due to the effects of Covid-19 on teaching and learning.

Minister Angie Motshekga announced the Class of 2020's Matric pass rate which, just as expected, was lower that last year's. The results are however still something to be proud of when looking at the impact of Covid-19 on the school year.

We all know and understand the disappointment that comes with not achieving the results you wanted. For many students this means exams, after which you naturally will choose a career pathway and move on with life. While this may be simpler for some, what if you don’t get the results you expected?
