Bursaries are ordinarily awarded only to South African citizens or persons with permanent residency permits for South Africa. A limited number of bursaries may be awarded to other non-South African applicants.

National Film and Video Foundation Bursary

The NFVF’s bursary programme is aimed at building capacity by upskilling film & TV professionals for global competitiveness through its support of qualifying applicants for overseas studies which are not offered in South African tertiary institutions. The bursary will be awarded for the 2019 academic year and will be capped at R250 000 inclusive of tuition and living expenses.

Applications are invited from qualified and experienced individuals who believe they have the required skills and competencies to take on these exciting positions in the Saturday Program from 1 January 2019.

The AJ Foundation bursary is open to any field of study, at a registered South African Institute, within the Western Cape. Applications for the 2019 academic year will open in September 2018.

This scholarship for Botany studies at Rhodes University, related to the protection of indigenous plants, has been established through the generous support from the Craib Family ScholarshipTrust.  

The Tiso Foundation through its Tertiary Bursary Programme in partnership with various South African Universities seeks to identify deserving previously disadvantaged candidates who have demonstrated talent and determination in their previous academic lives.
