The Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) is the only university of technology in the Western Cape. CPUT was established on 5 January 2005, when the Cape Technikon and Peninsula Technikon merged. CPUT has six faculties and boasts more than 80 undergraduate and postgraduate courses in a wide range of fields. They have short courses for students interested in a specific field.
