All Matric Rage Festival events are now being postponed after it was identified as a super spreader event by the country's Health Minister. This backlash comes after multiple attendees tested positive for the virus. However the organisers ahve said that the Plett Rage event may still go ahead if it receives the necessary permits.

The Department of Health has identified The Rage 2020 matric events around the country as Covid-19 super spreader events. Matrics are now being urged to get tested. 

Covid-19 infections in South Africa are still steadily rising and its citizens are advised to keep adhering to prevention protocols, such as wearing a face mask in public spaces, washing of hands regularly and social distancing, to mitigate the spread of the virus and avoid another hard lockdown. 

Only 10 South African universities aim to complete the academic year before the end of the 2020 calendar year, while 16 universities are expected to complete the 2020 academic year between January and March 2021, due to delays caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
