counselling for matrics

After the High Court decided that the matric learners did not have to rewrite the leaked papers, SADTU and many others were ecstatic about the news. Finally, these learners were allowed to celebrate the end of the long journey.

The Matric Class of 2020 had to deal with many challenges this year. They lost class time due to the nationwide lockdown and had the pressure of preparing for a rewrite.

Since COVID-19 has presented matriculants with many challenges this year, COSAS believes that learners in Grade 12 should not be tested on the full syllabus for their final exams.

Before students can write their examinations, they are required to sign the examination pledge. Which states that they will adhere to all examination protocol.

Matriculants who may be anxious about their examination results have been urged to make use of the Department of Social Development’s Gender-Based Violence Command Centre (GBVCC).
