Should you feel the need to change the way in which your R350 grant is paid to you, SASSA has made it possible for beneficiaries to change their grant payment method.

How To Change Your SRD Grant Payment Method

  1. Go to srd.sassa.gov.za
  2. Scroll to 'How do I change my banking details'
  3. Submit your ID Number
  4. An SMS containing a secure link, unique to you, will be sent to the mobile phone number with which you registered during application
  5. Click on the link in the SMS
  6. Follow the instructions carefully

If you choose to have your R350 grant payment be put into a bank account, you are urged to make sure that you are the owner of the account. SASSA is not able to pay your SRD grant into another person’s bank account.

Then, if you chose the money transfer option via one of the major banks, you will also need to ensure that the phone number in which you received the SMS is registered in your name. SASSA is not able to make your R350 grant payments to a phone number which is registered to another person.

It's also important to remember that the new banking details will only be used for future payments, after verification.
