How R350 Grant Bank Payments Work

As the second cycle of SASSA R350 grant payments is currently underway, SASSA has provided guidance on how grant applicants can submit their details in a way that ensures that there are no hassles in the processing of their payments.

There has been some level of confusion among SASSA clients who have opted to receive their grant payments through their bank accounts on how SASSA social relief of distress grant payments are processed. 

This has resulted in some applicants taking to Twitter to air out their frustrations. In response, the social security agency has provided a step by step guide on how this process works.

These are the steps that new applicants must follow when submitting their banking details:

Clients with personal bank accounts:

  • Choose a bank name
  • Provide account number
  • Provide branch name
  • Agree to terms and conditions
  • Submit Banking Details

Clients without a personal bank account

  • Choose payment option - Cash Send
  • Agree to terms and conditions
  • Submit banking details 

For existing clients these are the steps to follow when submitting their banking details:

  • Confirm existing personal banking details 
  • Agree to terms and conditions
  • Click submit 

Clients with Cash send option who wish to add bank details 

  • Choose a bank name
  • Provide account number
  • Provide branch name
  • Provide account type
  • Agree to terms and conditions
  • Submit banking details
