Unisa Students Who Ask 'Where Are Our Certificates' Finally Get Answers

Some Unisa students graduated months ago and are still waiting for their certificates to arrive. Due to the National Lockdown, procedures for these certificate deliveries have been all over the place and now, Unisa has given some answers.

Unisa students have been directing countless complaints Unisa's way when it comes to the delivery of their certificates. Some students say they are unable to move forward due to the delays in receiving their certificates.

Graduation ceremonies at the University have been cancelled due to the pandemic. Unisa then said that certificates would be mailed to students. Now, things have once again been changed.

Unisa's Acting Vice-principal for teaching and learning, Prof Veronica Mckay, has now spoken on the issue and said that students will receive their certificates in due time:

Up until now, students were able to collect their certificates but with the lockdown regulations in place, that fell away. I now understand that various venues where students ordinarily would have graduated will be handing out their certificates.

She then said that students will receive SMSes as to when they can come and collect their certificates.

"I know students have been pretty upset about not receiving their certificates and I understand," said Mckay.

There hasn't been clear communication from Unisa about when these certificates would be arriving.

Unisa’s graduations usually see 50 000 students in attendance.
