UKZN Follows With Early Recess

The University of Kwazulu-Natal have finalised their decisions concerning how they will respond to Covid-19 as an institution. They have then decided to commence with their break early.

UKZN has their student and staff's health at the top of their priorities. They have therefore decided to implement further measures following the Presidenrt's address and the Minister's decision to close all higher education institutions.

The University’s mid-term break will commence immediately and the second term will begin on the 14th of April. The university aims to have all teaching and learning available online in time for the second term.

All residence students, from both leased and owned residences, are instructed to vacate the premises by no later than the 20th of March. The International Office will be in contact with various embassies to assist in repatriating those international students who live in leased and owned university residences who require assistance to return home.

Executives and senior managers will consult with their staff to put in place measures to ensure business continuity and for critical and essential staff to be on duty to provide necessary support. Non-essential staff will work from home.
