As the world is moving digital, the Department of Higher Education plans to follow suit.
This is what Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Dr. Blade Nzimande aims to do in order to support post-school education and training.
In a media briefing, Nzimande highlighted the following:
The spectrum must be reserved in a dedicated way for post-school education.
This will ensure that there is effective access and sustained digital technology for students, including those using WiFi in university accommodation and on-campus.
Leadership in institutions of higher learning have been applauded for their resilience and commitment to complete the academic year.
Higher Education Minister has announced that the number of deregistered students is low in the university sector with 2% of undergraduate students deregistering and 3% of postgraduate students deregistering.
Nzimande proudly mentioned how high student participation in teaching and learning, assessment and testing had been with students having access to their campuses and skill centres.
To allow full contact learning, Nzimande has called on stakeholders on the campaign to get everyone vaccinated.
Nzimande further urged that institutions should not drop the ball and maintain health protocols.
