SASSA Grant Payment Dates For August

As we near the end of the month of July, it's important to know which dates your SASSA grants will be paid. We can help so keep reading to find out SASSA’s payments dates for grants in August 2021.

With July ending soon, you might be itching to know when your SASSA grant for August is going to be paid.

The South African Social Agency (SASSA) released the various payment dates for the month of August 2021, they are as follows:

  • Older Person's Grants 3 August 2021
    • This includes any grants linked to these accounts
  • Disability Grants 4 August 2021
    • This includes any grants linked to these accounts
  • Foster Care Grants 5 August 2021
  • Care Dependency Grants 5 August 2021
  • Child Support Grants 5 August 2021

As for the R350 grant, the President announced just last week that it will be reinstated. However, applications have not yet opened and payments have then not begun.

However, when it comes to the previous round of R350 grants which saw applications for it ending in April, SASSA has made it clear that there won't be any payments for May, June and July. Payments for April and months before then do however continue. 

It's also important to remember that there is no set R350 grant payment date.

SASSA also released the following payment dates for Kwazulu-Natal paypoints:

  • Durban 6 - 12 August
  • Pietermaritzburg 6 - 16 August
  • Midlands 6 - 17 August
  • uLundi 6 - 18 August

The agency wants to remind beneficiaries that there is no need to rush to withdraw cash on the first day. Once the money is in the account, it will remain there until it is needed.

18 million people will receive social grants in the current financial year leading to SASSA spending R195 billion on grants. 95% of the Department of Social Development's (DSD) budget goes towards social grants.
