SASSA Falls Short On Paying R350 Grant

Many successful applicants were pleased when SASSA announced that it would start paying the R350 grant on Friday, May 15. The Department of Social Developent is now under fire as more details have been uncovered about just how many people have received their payments.

Out of the millions of South Africans that have applied for the special covid-19 grant, SASSA has only paid 10 people.

The department has been criticised for misleading the public after announcing that it was starting to roll out payments for successful applicants who provided their banking details.

Some took to Twitter to express their unhappiness with the department's slow progress on paying successful applicants.
