The Minister of Basic Education will make announcements tomorrow at 9AM concerning the department's plans for the opening of schools now that the country is experiencing the second wave of Covid infections.

DBE Spokesperson, Elijah Mhlanga, headed to Twitter and announced the following:

Speculation that schools will open on 15 February instead of 27 January has been swirling in the air and now we will hear what the final say is. 

A survey done revealed that 50% of adults were against schools reopening during this second wave with many saying that the department has not planned adequately for the health and safety of teachers and learners.
