As we inch closer and closer to the final Matric exams and still live alongside a global pandemic, we should be hearing some updates on schooling in South Africa on Friday.
Angie Motshekga, the Minister of Basic Education, will be hosting a conference to address the media and general public on developments in her sector.
The briefing is set to take place at 2PM on Friday afternoon.
The Department of Basic Education released a statement saying:
Basic Education Minister, Mrs Angie Motshekga, will hold a media briefing to provide an update on the basic education sector's response to the impact of Covid-19 on schooling as the countdown to Matric examinations continues.
The Class of 2021 will commence with their final Matric exams on 27 October with it ending on 7 December.
The Department of Basic Education also launched the second round of the Basic Education Employment Initiative which sees unemployed youth being recruited to fill education and school assistants roles across schools in South Africa.
