Here's When Gauteng School Applications For 2023 Will Open

The Department of Basic Education in Gauteng is already preparing to open its online school admissions for next year. Here is the date that has been confirmed by the provincial education department.

The Department of Basic Education in Gauteng has recently announced that their online admissions system will go live on the 22nd of July 2022 for parents looking to have their children admitted to Grade 1 or 8 next year.

If your child will be in Grade 1 or 8 next year (2023) kindly note that our online admissions system will go live on the 22nd of July 2022. Kindly diarize this important date.

Additionally, the provincial Education Department has also listed the date on which all activities related to ensuring that the application system is prepared for the influx of upcoming online applications. They are listed as follows:

From 1 to 3 June 2022, those responsible for the Department’s Information Systems will be tasked with uploading amended school feeder zones in the system and GDE Website.

Throughout the same period, the Information Systems department will also be attending to the uploading of required documentation on system and GDE Website. 

The department has further stated that its Information System staff will also oversee registration and confirmation of user details and capacities of schools with Grade 1 and 8 (entry grade) on the System.

Other system preparation activities to be carried out by the Information System staff across all district’s in the province in June include: 

  • Stress Testing of the Admissions Online Application System
  • Performance Testing of the Admission Online Application System
  • Functionality Testing of the Admissions Online Application System.
