Apply To Write Matric Supplementary Exams Now

As the 2021 academic year begins, the DBE invites candidates to register to rewrite their matric examinations.

The Department of Basic Education invites candidates to register for the May/June Senior Certificate (SC) National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations which are scheduled to begin on 5 May 2021.

Candidates may register for the supplementary examinations online via this link: or at the nearest Education District Office.

This examination grants candidates that registered for the November 2020 examination, but may not have satisfied the requirements for a certificate, a second opportunity to do so.

These exams are open to candidates who were not able to sit or finish the exam due to various reasons, such as medical reasons or death in the family.

The May/June supplementary exams form part of the Departments Second Chance Matric Support Program. Learner support material is also available through the Second Chance Program.

Candidates who were not satisfied with their results are allowed to apply for either a remark or recheck. Application forms for remarking or rechecking of answer scripts can be found at schools or exam centres.

The 2020 NSC exam results will be released to matrics on 23 February 2021.
