The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) provides essential financial support to millions of South Africans through various grants, including the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant. The R370 Sassa grant is currently scheduled to end in April 2025.
The R370 SASSA grant is a crucial relief programme aimed at individuals who meet specific eligibility criteria. Once approved, beneficiaries can collect their grant payments through a variety of convenient methods.
SRD Grant Payment Dates For April 2025
SRD grants are generally paid during the final week of the month, after Sassa has completed its verification checks. These verification checks are in place to ensure that only eligible individuals receive the SRD grant.
SRD grant payments for April 2025 will be made between 25 April and 30 April.
Beneficiaries are advised to complete an SRD Grant Status Check to confirm if they have been approved for payment and when they can expect their Sassa money to be paid out.
How To Do A Sassa Status Check For R370 Payment Date
To check your status, visit the SASSA SRD status website and navigate to the status check section. You’ll be asked to enter your ID number and the cellphone number you used when applying for the grant.
After submitting your details, you’ll receive a one-time PIN (OTP) for security verification. Once entered, you will be able to view your R370 Sassa grant status, including the payment date.
This will show you the exact date the payment is expected to reflect in your bank account.
Where To Collect SRD Grant Payments
Bank Account
Beneficiaries can opt to receive their Sassa grant through direct deposit into their personal bank accounts. This is generally the quickest and most secure option.
Retail Stores
Alternatively, beneficiaries can collect their SRD grant at authorised retail outlets, including Pick n Pay, Checkers, Shoprite, USave, and Boxer.
Be sure to bring your South African ID when collecting your R370 Sassa grant payment at any retail location.
Sassa has advised that there is no need to rush to withdraw the funds on the first day, as the grant money will remain in your account until you are ready to access it.
