The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has announced the 2025 application dates for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) college students.
While applications are open for students intending to start their studies at the beginning of the 2025 academic year, NSFAS offers multiple application periods for TVET college students throughout the year.
NSFAS TVET College Application Dates
TVET college programmes don’t always start in January and end in December; they may begin at different times during the academic year.
To accommodate this, NSFAS application periods are closely aligned with TVET college academic calendars, allowing students to apply for funding at the start of their programmes.
When NSFAS 2025 Applications Will Open For Trimester 2
- Opening Date: 12 May 2025
- Closing Date: 23 May 2025
How TVET College Students Can Apply for NSFAS Funding
Students planning to begin their studies at the start of the 2025 academic year must apply for funding during the current NSFAS application period. Applications are open now and will close on 15 December 2024.
Students must submit their NSFAS applications online, as the TVET walk-in application option will not be available in 2025. Unlike previous years, all applications must be completed through the myNSFAS portal.
NSFAS urges students to ensure they not only create a myNSFAS profile but complete and submit their applications. Additionally, students should apply for the funding cycle that corresponds with the academic term in which they plan to enrol.
