The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) confirmed that old age grant payments will proceed as normal for May. This clarification comes after concerns of payment disruptions caused by disinformation.
Several posts shared on social media falsely claim that beneficiaries of the Older Persons grant or Sassa pension are required to submit updated documentation to ensure future grant payments.
Sassa confirmed that these posts contain false information and assured Sassa pensioners that their grants will be paid in May.
Sassa warns clients and the public at large against the following FAKE information which does NOT come from Sassa.
May Grant Payment Dates
The next round of Sassa grant payments will commence on Tuesday, 6 May, with older persons grant payments. All individuals who previously received old age grant payments will be paid in May.
May Disability grant payments will be processed on Wednesday, 7 May, followed by Children's Grant payments on Thursday, 8 May.
