Millions of financially vulnerable individuals rely on social grants to survive every month. The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has begun paying social grants to beneficiaries for August 2024.
Permanent Grants distributed by Sassa include Older Persons pension grants, Disability grants, War Veterans grants, Care Dependency grants, Foster Child grants, Child Support grants, Child Support grant Top-Up and Grant-in-aid.
Sassa Grant Dates For August 2024
In August 2024, these Sassa grants will be distributed from the second day of the month. However, beneficiaries of other grant will have to wait a few more days for their grant payments as Sassa does not pay grants to beneficiaries on weekends.

- Older Persons Grant - 2 August 2024
- Disability Grants - 5 August 2024
- Children's Grants - 6 August 2024
There is no need to rush to withdraw cash on the first day. Once the money is in the account, it will remain there until it is needed.
Where To Collect Sassa Grant Payments For August
Sassa grant beneficiaries have two options for receiving their grants.
They can choose to have their Sassa grant automatically deposited into their bank account. This is the recommended option, as the money stays safe in the account until it's needed.
Alternatively, beneficiaries can collect their grants in cash from various locations, including ATMs, Pick n Pay stores, Checkers stores, Shoprite stores, and Boxer stores.
