The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has announced the payment dates for November's social grants.
Each month, Sassa distributes over 18 million permanent grant payments, including the Older Persons pension grant, Disability grant, War Veterans grant, Care Dependency grant, Foster Child grant, Child Support grant, Child Support grant Top-Up and Grant-in-aid.
Sassa aims to pay social grants from the second day of the month. However, the agency does not pay grants on weekends or public holidays.
In November 2024, the second day of the month falls on the weekend resulting in a delay in social grant payments.
Sassa Grant Dates for November 2024
Sassa has set the following dates for social grant payments in November 2024:
- Older Persons Grant - 5 November 2024
- Disability Grants - 6 November 2024
- Children's Grants - 7 November 2024
There’s no need to rush to withdraw cash on the first payment day. Once the funds are in your account, they will remain available until needed.

Where to Collect Your Sassa Grant
Sassa beneficiaries can opt to have their grants paid directly into their bank accounts.
Alternatively, grants can be collected at various payment points, including ATMs and retail stores like Pick n Pay, Checkers, Shoprite, and Boxer.
