Millions of people rely on Sassa grants to survive every month. Sassa has confirmed the final grant payment dates for 2024.

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has confirmed the grant payment dates for the end of 2024. The final social grant payments will be made in December 2024. 

Sassa distributes more than 18 million permanent grant payments monthly, including the Older Persons pension grant, Disability grant, War Veterans grant, Care Dependency grant, Foster Child grant, Child Support grant, Child Support grant Top-Up, and Grant-in-aid. 

Sassa aims to pay social grants on the second day of the month. However, the agency does not pay grants on weekends or public holidays. Therefore, older persons' grants will be paid from Tuesday, 3 December 2024. 

Sassa Payment Dates For December 2024

  • Older Persons Grant - 3 December 2024
  • Disability Grants - 4 December 2024
  • Children's Grants - 5 December 2024

Sassa Grant Amounts for December 2024

  • Older Persons Grant - R2,190
  • Older Persons (75 years and older) - R2,210
  • Disability Grant - R2,190
  • War Veterans Grant - R2,210
  • Child Support Grant - R530
  • Care Dependency Grant - R2,190
  • Foster Care Grant - R1,180
  • Child Support Grant (Top-Up) - R530 + R250
  • SRD Grant - R370

Sassa grant beneficiaries can opt to have their grants paid directly into their bank accounts. Alternatively, grants can be collected at various payment points, including ATMs and retail stores like Pick n Pay, Checkers, Shoprite, and Boxer.

Grant beneficiaries are reminded that new Sassa black cards are now available for collection countrywide.
