Sassa Grant Dates For August 2024
Sassa announced the following Sassa grant payment dates for August 2024:
- Older Persons Grant - 2 August 2024
- Disability Grants - 5 August 2024
- Children's Grants - 6 August 2024
There is no need to rush to withdraw cash on the first day. Once the money is in the account, it will remain there until it is needed.
In August 2024, these Sassa grants will be distributed from the second day of the month. However, beneficiaries of other grant will have to wait a few more days for their grant payments as Sassa does not pay grants to beneficiaries on weekends.
Where To Collect Sassa Grant Payments For August
Sassa beneficiaries can choose to have their Sassa grant be paid directly to their bank account.
Sassa grant beneficiaries can also collect their Sassa social grants at several payment points. These payment points include ATMs and retail stores such as Pick n Pay, Checkers, Shoprite and Boxer.

- Older Persons grant - R2,180
- Older Persons (75 years and older) - R2,200
- Disability grant - R2,180
- War Veterans grant - R2,200
- Care Dependency grant - R2,180
- Foster Care grant - R1,180
Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe recently presented the Budget Vote to the National Assembly, allocating a total of R266 billion for social grants. This includes funding for 28 million beneficiaries, with 9 million receiving the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant.
