Looking to unlock financial aid for your South African studies? The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) can help! This financial aid scheme offers bursaries and loans to cover tuition, accommodation, living expenses, and even learning materials – all for eligible students from low-income backgrounds.
On 9 July 2024, NSFAS opened semester 2 applications. This application period is only for TVET college students and will close on 26 July 2024, giving students just 17 days to apply for NSFAS funding.
How To Apply For NSFAS
TVET colleges often operate on different academic calendars compared to universities. To accommodate this difference, NSFAS offers dedicated application windows for TVET students, ensuring they can access funding for their specific semester start dates.
The process for submitting an NSFAS application will remain the same for all remaining 2024 cycles and will be the same as the method used by students for the first cycle of 2024.
Therefore, students should apply through the NSFAS website on the myNSFAS portal when applications open.
