The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) is responsible for the social relief of distress grant, which we know as the SRD grant or R370 Sassa grant. Sassa encourages beneficiaries to do a Sassa status check to view their R370 grant payment date for December 2024.
Sassa SRD R370 Grant Payment Dates For December 2024
R370 grant payments are usually made during the last week of the month.
With the last week of December including Christmas, Boxing Day and New Years Day, Sassa's spokesperson, Paseka Letsatsi, has said that beneficiaries can expect SRD grants to be paid earlier.
December 2024 SRD grant payments are set to be paid to approved grant applicants between 17 December and 23 December 2024.
Payments (for clients who are approved for the month of December 2024) will be processed from 17-23 December 2024.
Sassa has revealed how SRD grant beneficiaries can complete an SRD Grant Status Check to see if they have been approved for payments and when to expect payment. SRD grant payment dates inform millions of people when they can expect to receive their Sassa SRD grant payment.
How To Check Your SRD Grant Payment Dates
First, visit the SASSA SRD status website for the SRD status check section. You will then be asked to fill in your ID number, as well as the cell phone number that you used when you submitted your grant application.
Hereafter, you will be able to check the progress of your grant by doing a Sassa status check. For security, you will receive a One time pin. Enter the OTP to see your Sassa grant payment status.
You will also be able to see your SRD grant payment date.
SRD grant payments are made during the final week of the month after Sassa completed various verification checks. These verification checks seek to ensure only deserving individuals receive SRD grant payments.
Sassa has made it clear that funds will take about 2 to 3 working days to reflect in the grantholder’s bank account after the Sassa SRD payment has been processed.
Beneficiaries can also collect their Sassa social grants at several payment points. These payment points include ATMs and retail stores such as Pick n Pay, Checkers, Shoprite and Boxer.
Sassa has said that there is no need to rush to withdraw the Sassa money on the first day it becomes available because once the money is paid, it will stay in your account.
