The SRD appeals are evaluated by an Independent Tribunal, ensuring a fair and impartial assessment. Sassa SRD appeal applications for March 2025 are now available.

How To Appeal Your R370 Sassa Grant Rejection

  1. Visit the ITSAA website.
  2. Enter your South African ID number.
  3. Enter the cell phone number used during the application process.
  4. Click "Send Pin" and wait for an SMS with a verification code.
  5. Once you receive the pin, enter it and click "Submit."
  6. Select the month for which you are appealing.
  7. Choose the reason for your appeal from the provided options.
  8. Click "Submit" to complete the appeal process.

If your appeal is successful, you will receive an SMS notification. If you don't hear back within 90 days, you can check the status of your appeal online.

If your appeal is unsuccessful, you may need to take further action, such as approaching the High Court for a review.

This monthly grant is a lifeline for millions of unemployed South Africans aged 18 to 59. 

SRD Grant Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the SRD grant, you must:

  • Be a South African citizen or hold an asylum seeker/special permit.
  • Be unemployed.
  • Not receive any other social grant or government financial assistance, such as UIF benefits or NSFAS.

If you applied for the R370 grant, you can check your SRD appeal status online through the Sassa SRD website. This Sassa status check will let you know whether your Sassa appeal was approved, rejected, or is still pending.
