The Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) has opened 2025 late GDE online admission applications. This application period will see the provincial education department attempt to place all learners at schools in the province.

Earlier this week, Gauteng Education MEC Matome Chiloane revealed that 99% of learners have been placed in the province. However, this caveat only applies to learners whose parents submitted complete online admission applications.

Parents who submitted incomplete Gauteng Online Admission applications can now do so.

The GDE opened late applications on 11 December 2024. This Gauteng late application period will be open until 27 January 2025.

Parent placement of Incomplete Applications and Late Applications for Grades 1 and Grade 8 for the 2025 academic year is opening on Wednesday, 11 December 2024 at 08:00 am and closing on Monday, 27 January 2025 at 00:01 am.

During the late applications placement period, parents will only be able to select a school with space for placement.

Parents who applied without submitting valid proof of home address must log in and select a school with available space for placement.

Parents who did not submit a Gauteng admissions application must register on the GDE admissions website.

For Late Applications, select REGISTER and follow the process. Late Applications are open for parents who have NOT submitted any applications.

Step-by-Step Application Process
