The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has confirmed its payment dates for June 2024 including the payment dates for the Disability Grant.

The Disability Grant specifically supports low-income South Africans with mental and physical disabilities.

Disability Sassa Grant Payment Dates For June 2024

Sassa will pay the June 2024 Disability Grants grants on 5 June 2024. 

Here's A Breakdown Of The Eligibility Criteria

To Qualify For The disability grant, applicants must be South African citizens, permanent residents, or refugees living in South Africa, and be between 18 and 59 years old.

The applicant must have a permanent and severe disability confirmed by a medical report no older than 3 months. Additionally, disabled individuals and their spouses (if applicable) must pass a means test. The applicant cannot be in a state institution or already receiving another social grant.

A single person can have an income of R 97,320 or R 194,640 for a married person. The asset threshold for a single person is R 1,379,400 and R 2,758,800 for a married person. 

What's Needed For Disability Grant Applications

There are specific requirements applicants must meet to qualify for the Disability Grant. If approved, they can receive a monthly payment of up to R2,080.

Before applying, a medical assessment is mandatory. Applicants can download the Medical Assessment Referral Form and take it to a medical facility to be completed by a healthcare professional. 

Only after receiving the assessment results can an applicant proceed with the formal grant application.
