Preparing for Your Matric Exams

Recognising the immense pressure on Grade 12 learners, The Careers Portal is dedicated to equipping students with essential matric resources for success. The portal offers a variety of tools to aid in matric exam preparation, including past exam papers and memorandums.

Understanding the Difference Between NSC and SC Qualifications

The NSC is awarded to learners who complete Grade 12 before turning 21. Those in this category who haven't yet written their exams or wish to improve their results can re-enrol in a full-time NSC programme. There is also an option for part-time NSC enrolment for those who didn't pass previously or left school within the last three years.

The SC is designed for learners who complete their matric year after the age of 21. This includes individuals who dropped out before reaching Grade 12 exams or those who took their exams more than three years ago.

While both the NSC and SC are recognised as equivalent qualifications, their assessment methods differ. The NSC combines examinations and School-Based Assessment (SBA), whereas the SC relies solely on examinations.
