As we are heading into 2024 and the commencement of the 2024 academic year inches closer and closer, thousands of people are planning for their studies. One aspect, and a rather important one, is securing funding.

A bursary goes a long way in making sure that higher education is not only accessible, but has a reduced level of stress. Bursaries sometimes also not only pay for tuition fees but cover other student expenses as well.

There are currently many bursaries which are still open for 2024 studies, let's uncover these.

NSFAS Bursary

NSFAS is the National Student Financial Aid Scheme Nsfas which provides financial aid in the form of a bursary fund for higher education students through NSFAS.

NSFAS gives bursaries to students from poor and working class backgrounds which goes beyond just paying for your fees. It will also cover registration, accommodation, transport, books and other needs through NSFAS allowances.

Funza Lushaka Bursary Scheme

Applications to benefit from the Funza Lushaka Bursary Scheme are now open for the 2024 academic year. This is the perfect bursary for teaching courses.

This bursary covers tuition fees, accommodation including meals, learning materials and they provide a monthly living allowance for living expenses.

MultiChoice Bursary Scheme

The 2024 intake for the MultiChoice Bursary Scheme is now open with 200 bursaries up for grabs! Open to students in all years of study, the Scheme includes students who have enrolled for their first post-graduate degree that is focused on the STEM discipline.

Designed to not only provide financial assistance to students who demonstrate academic excellence, the MultiChoice bursary scheme also aims to uplift and empower students to have access to quality education by covering tuition fees including registration, accommodation as well as an annual living allowance.

Hollywood Bets Betting Foundation Bursary Programme

Hollywood Betting has a foundation that gives our bursaries to needy students. This bursary will cover National Certificates, Diploma’s, Degrees and Post-Graduate studies.

Gauteng City Region Academy (GCRA) Bursary

The GCRA bursary programme is open to all qualifying youth, with particular preference given to youth from Gauteng, who wish to study for an undergraduate and/or post-graduate programme at an accredited and registered Post School Education and Training institution in South Africa.

The bursary covers full cost of study, with conditions, as stipulated in the bursary contract.

Coca-Cola SA Bursary Programme

Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) has opened the application process to matric students and first time university applicants across the country for its Study Buddy Fund bursary programme for the 2024 academic year.

The fund pays for full tuition, accommodation fees, as well as textbooks.

TCTA Bursary

TCTA is offering 10 bursary opportunities to academically deserving youth from previously disadvantaged backgrounds.

Eligible applicants include first & second year students who are already studying or planning to study towards their undergraduate degree at a recognised South African higher learning Institution.

Thapelo Madibeng Bursary Scheme

The CETA hereby invite interested matriculants, undergrads not currently funded elsewhere. The TMBS funding will be awarded to candidates pursuing construction related qualifications at under-graduate as well as post graduate levels, inclusive of Masters and above qualifications.

The bursary will cover costs related to registration, tuition, books, meals, accommodation as well as any other support deemed necessary for successful completion of the qualification.
