Those who are yet to submit their applications for basic education employment initiative have been granted more time to do so.

The Department of Basic Education has announced that it has extended the application deadline for Phase two of the Basic Education Employment Initiative to Sunday, 10 October 2021 at midnight. 

Candidates are advised to submit their applications online via the zero-rated sayouth.mobi site to ensure efficiency in data collection and management. The platform has been centralized to enable fairness in the application and recruitment process. 

The recruitment drive opened on Monday 27 September and was expected to close on 03 October 2021. The programme is looking to place 290 000 youths in a five-month employment program as Teaching Assistants and General School Assistants.

The department has also introduced an alternative way for candidates to submit their applications.

More details and instructions on the application process will be released in due course. In the meantime, applicants are advised to follow these platforms for updates on BEEI Phase 2:
