Equal Education is a movement that, in their own words, strives "for quality and equality in South Africa's Education system". On Friday, the 4th of March, this activist group joined their partner organisations to "talk about and revisit what brings [them] together" according to their social media post on the collaboration.
The initiative was titled 'Activist Connect' and presented an opportunity for young activists to reconnect on their goals and objectives as activists since the Covid-19 pandemic had put a strain on their abilities to be active.
There, they discussed overlapping issues and reframed their activist aims with the added difficulty of Covid-19. At the event, they composed separate boards with the phrases "Land for living now", "Democracy for who?", and so on.
