Matric: 5 Tips to Get Your Head in the Game

It's exam time! This can be a highly stressful time of the year, so here are a few tips and tricks to help you keep your head in the game.

Matric: Get Your Head in the Game

Exams stress everyone out. If someone tells you they aren't feeling at least a little stressed out, they're either wrong or lying. So, basically, you're not alone!

And you don't have to be. Here are a few ways you can keep your eyes on the prize and your head in the game:

1. Get your Timetable sorted

If you're running around like a headless chicken, you're going to be doubling your stress. Make sure you have a well-structured study timetable and stick to it.

2. Past Papers

Past papers are, hands down, one of the best ways to prepare for your own exams. Working through old exam papers gives you an idea of the style of questions you'll be facing and means you're less likely to be tripped up by old trick questions.

3. Nothing Like a Good Night's Sleep

This is an important one: make sure you're getting enough sleep.

You won't be able to focus on your exams or your studying if you're in the habit of pulling all-nighters. Trust me, I've gone to write an exam on 2 hours of sleep and it was not a good idea.

A solid night's sleep will only do you good.

4. Nutrition is Your Friend

Along with sleeping well, you need to be eating well too. Try get your hands on things like nuts, dried fruit and the like. Steer clear of candies, chocolates, chips, ice cream, etc - they'll weigh you down and make you feel horrible.

5. Water water everywhere

And you need to be drinking every last drop. Make sure you stay hydrated, otherwise your body (and brain!) are going to grind to a halt and we can't have that!

There you have it: 5 tips to help Matric learners get their heads in the game!
