How To Register To Write The National Benchmark Tests

pen on paper

Before you sit down to write the National Benchmark Tests, you need to be registered. Here's all you need to know about how to register.

In order to register you need to have your ID/ passport because you will be required to enter your ID number. You also need to have an email address that is unique to you so that you can get updates on the tests and more information.

Before selecting a date, you need to check the application closing dates of the institutions that you have chosen to apply to. If you are unsure about whether or not you have to write the NBTs then you can check the university's website and faculty requirements.

If writing the NBTs is a requirement for the programme you want to apply for, you can then register online by booking a test

Once you have booked a test, you will receive a letter confirming your registration. You will then be required to pay using an EasyPay barcode that will be made available to you. You can then print the letter of registration and EasyPay barcode after you have clicked 'submit'.

You must then go to an EasyPay Paypoint near you with your NBT registration letter and barcode so you can pay the testing fees. The cost to write the AQL is R110, and the cost to write both the AQL and the MAT test is R220.

Payments can also be made on the EasyPay website, make sure you print out your receipt when you are done paying.

Once you have paid, you will finally be registered to write.
