Eastern Cape Matrics To Receive Sim Cards for Free eLearning

The education department of the Eastern Cape has recently announced that it is in the process of providing learners with sim cards to help them access school-related content online.

DispatchLive recently reported that the Eastern Cape Department of Education has partnered with MTN in order to allow Matric learners to access school resources during the lockdown.

The initiative is aimed at making sure matric learners are able to stay up to date with the school curriculum and to keep them prepared for their eventual return to school. The department is still in the process of finalizing the initiative with MTN.

This initiative is meant to complement the SABC and Department of Basic Education's initiative to broadcast lessons to learners on television and radio. Once the sim card initiative is finalized, matric learners will be able to make use of these resources in order to help them complete the rest of the school year.
