  1. Go to www.twitter.com
  2. Select sign up
  3. Choose a profile username - now this is called your twitter handle. It's the name that you're going to be known on as Twitter. Think of it like your email address but it's the @ symbol and then your username. It could be your name if possible or a nickname or something that your organization is known by but be sure to have a couple of good options in mind in case the one you want is already taken.
  4. Then you add in a photo. The best practices for a photo on Twitter is to make sure it's high quality, friendly and make sure that you're smiling.
  5. Then complete your bio. You bio is a short but sweet statement that gives people a quick view on who you are, what you are passionate about or what you enjoy. It's pretty simple but you want people to be able to make a connection with who you are quickly. You can even add a website or your Facebook page to this section.
  6. Now you start following people. They don't need to be celebrities. Just find people that you want to follow. People that may be interested in you can follow you back.
  7. What you need to do after you start following people is tweeting. Retweet a tweet or just talking about your thoughts. It's a microblogging platform and you can also share videos and pictures.

As you can see, setting up a twitter account for oyurself or your business is pretty simple. Have a go at it and enjoy tweeting.
