University of Cape Town (UCT) 

The University of Cape Town (UCT) offers an Honours or postgraduate diploma in Management in Information Systems (IS) through its School of IT. 

These programmes are aimed at students who are currently employed in the Information Systems or Information Technology fields.

On offer are four specializations: 

  1. Information Systems Management
  2. Computer Forensics 
  3. Enterprise Systems and Business Process Management 
  4. Business Analysis and Systems Analysis
  5. Cybersecurity

These specializations are completed over two years, part-time.

University of Johannesburg (UJ) 

The University of Johannesburg (UJ) offers an undergraduate diploma in Business Information Technology. 

The programme prepares students to contribute meaningfully to the effective and efficient business management of Information Technology in organizations. 

The course spans over three years, studying full-time. 

University of the Western Cape (UWC) 

The Department of Information Systems at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) offers a postgraduate Diploma in IT Infrastructure and Application Management (ITIAM). 

The postgraduate Diploma in ITIAM (NQF Level 8 qualification) is designed to provide training for individuals who have had little to no exposure to an IT career. The programme is a conversion course that provides fast-track opportunities into an IT profession. 

The programme covers approximately 15-17 weeks of full time in-class training at the institution's Information Systems Department. 

A requirement to gain entry into this course is a Bachelor’s degree in any field, with an average of 60%. 

Durban University of Technology (DUT)

The Durban University of Technology (DUT) offers a Diploma in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in Applications Development.

It is a 4-year course with a curriculum designed to enhance the student development and to improve the student’s chances of successful completion.

Cape Peninsula University of Technology

The Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) offers more than one diploma qualification in IT. 

On offer are:

  1. Diploma in ICT in Applications Development
  2. Diploma in ICT in Multimedia Applications
  3. Diploma in ICT in Communication Networks
  4. Advanced Diploma in ICT in Applications Development 
  5. Advanced Diploma in ICT in Multimedia Applications
  6. Advanced Diploma in ICT in Communication Networks
  7. Postgraduate Diploma in ICT

These programmes are offered through the institution's Faculty of Informatics and Design.
