Quite a few universities around South Africa will be closing their applications in October. We have therefore provided a list of Universities where applications will soon close for undergraduate programmes, in October. 

Make sure to apply to these universities as soon as possible!

The Universities which will close their applications in October are:

University of South Africa (Unisa)

Unisa is a distance learning University meaning that you study from home. This enables you to work on your own schedule and is perfect for someone who is gaining their qualification while also working.

Unisa offers courses and programmes across the following faculties:

Applications Undergraduate qualifications, Honours degrees and Postgraduate diplomas at Unisa will close on 15 October 2021.

Walter Sisulu University (WSU)

Walter Sisulu University has positioned itself as a developmental university focusing on urban renewal and rural development. WSU provides an educationally vibrant and enabling environment which results in quality academic, moral, cultural and technological learner-centred education.

The university has 8 campuses which offer programmes across 4 faculties, namely:

University of Limpopo (UL)

The University of Limpopo was formed in 2005 when the University of the North and the Medical University of South Africa (MEDUNSA) merged. The University was made up of the  Turfloop and MEDUNSA campuses, until the MEDUNSA campus split in 2015 to become the Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University. 

The University of Limpopo's vision is to be a leading African University focused on the developmental needs of its communities and epitomising academic excellence and innovativeness. 

UL offers programmes in the following faculties:

University of Fort Hare (UFH)

The University of Fort Hare is a vibrant, equitable and sustainable African university, committed to teaching and research excellence at the service of its students, scholars and the wider community.

University of Kwazulu-Natal (UKZN)

The University of Kwazulu-Natal is a university with five campuses in the province of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. UKZN aims to establish a value-driven organisational culture that empowers the Institution and its people to achieve institutional goals.

Applications for 2022 will close on 31 October 2021.

At the Universities, selection programmes, such as those for Music and Fine Arts, and medical programmes usually have earlier closing dates as it requires additional assessments for eligibility.

Students who require financial aid can apply for the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS). The NSFAS applications for 2022 will open soon.
