University Applications Closing In November


As we approach the end of the 2021 academic year, it is important to keep track of when Universities will be closing their applications so that you don't miss your chance to study in 2022. Below we have listed the Universities whose applications will close in November. 


Quite a few universities around South Africa will be closing their applications in November. We have therefore provided a list of Universities where applications will soon close for undergraduate programmes, in November. 

Make sure to apply to these universities as soon as possible!

The Universities which will close their applications in November are:

Sol Plaatje University 

Sol Plaatje University, also known as SPU, will have their applications close on 30 November. Prospective students can apply to study at the University by using the online application system. There is no application fee required to apply. 

They offer courses under the following faculties:

  • Economic and Management Sciences
  • Education
  • Humanities
  • Natural and Applied Sciences

University of Mpumalanga

The University of Mpumalanga, which is called UMP for short, will see their applications close on 30 November. The University now offers 26 qualifications. 

They offer courses under the following faculties:

  • Faculty of Education
    • School of Foundation Phase Teaching
  • Faculty of Agricultural and Natural Sciences
    • School of Agricultural Sciences
    • School of Biology and Environmental Sciences
    • School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences
  • Faculty of Economics, Development and Business Sciences
    • School of Development Studies
    • School of Hospitality and Tourism Management
    • School of Social Sciences

Central University of Technology

The Central University of Technology, also known as CUT, applications are currently open until 30 November so you still have some time to apply. Central University of Technology Free State offers a variety of departments at their campuses. 

CUT offers qualifications under the following faculties:

  • Faculty of Engineering,Built Environment and Information Technology
  • Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences
  • Faculty of Humanities
  • Faculty of Management Sciences

At the Universities, selection programmes, such as those for Music and Fine Arts, and medical programmes usually have earlier closing dates as it requires additional assessments for eligibility.

Students who require financial aid can apply for the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS). The NSFAS applications for 2022 will open on 2 November and close on 7 January.
