The University of Kwazulu-Natal has issued a notice on the extension of the deadline for students to deregister.

The statement released reads as follows:

"Each semester students have the option of voluntarily withdrawing from their academic registration before a set date without incurring any financial penalties. Each year this date is published for every semester in the sessional dates calendar. This is an extension of that date for full deregistration.

Academic deregistration is a voluntary process and extending the deadline is purely an administrative process necessary to accommodate students who were unable to meet the initial deadline due to challenges of the early mid-term break and the subsequent nationwide lockdown."
