The University of Pretoria (UP) Tuks is one of Africa’s top universities and the largest contact university in South Africa. University applications for the 2026 academic year are now open at UP but will be closing at the end of the month.

University of Pretoria Online Application Closing Dates

The first closing date is for Veterinary studies - with all other undergraduate courses closing on the 30th June. 

• May 31, 2025: Applications close for the Faculty of Veterinary Science.
• June 30, 2025: Applications close for all other undergraduate faculties

How To Apply - Your UP Application

1. Go to the university website
2. Click on 'Start The Application Process'
3. Fill in the required information
4. Review your application
5. If you are sure you are done with your application, click on the 'I have completed the application ...' button
6. Click on 'return'

How To Track Your University of Pretoria Online Application

1. Go to the university website
2. Click on 'study' and then 'apply'
3. Click on 'Application status'
4. Click on the link they direct you to to check your status
5. Enter your log in details
6. You will then be able to view your UP application status

Once the application has been submitted, you will receive communication from the university, explaining how to access your Student Centre through the UP Student Portal, enabling you to track your progress and status, as well as other communications and possible outstanding items.
