All National Student Financial Aid Scheme (Nsfas) funded students will receive a refund if they pay the minimal registration fee to activate their registration.
Qualifying students may have to wait up to 15 working days for refund payments to reflect in their accounts and students will only be refunded if they followed the correct procedure when requesting the refund.
The institution has advised students to update their bank account details accordingly using the new EFT process so that payments can be made on time and to prevent any further payment delays.
Students wishing to update their bank details on the new EFT process in order to get a refund can do so by following the steps below.
Steps To Get Your Unisa Refund:
- Unisa students that qualify for a refund, will be sent an email to their myLife email account. This email will contain the relevant information along with a secure link to a site where the relevant banking details must be entered and submitted.
- After reading the email carefully, students must click on the link and enter their banking details and submit details. Only a student’s own, active bank account can be used to request the refund and payments to any third-party accounts will not be processed. Unisa will use the students ID number to verify the information.
- The verification status of the details you have submitted will be displayed. This may not occur immediately – revisit the link until such time as the information is made available.
- If the bank account verification fails or is rejected, students are encouraged to re-enter their banking details and make sure that they are correct.
Should students require further assistance or have any queries, they can be directed to the Unisa Directorate of Student Funding – [email protected]
