Have you been informed that you have passed but are still waiting to receive your official results?

Without the physical proof of a qualification it can be hard to move into the next phase of your career.

In order to find a job or apply for other study opportunities it is often necessary to have the documented evidence.

Yet many young lives have been brought to a standstill because of the inability to obtain their hard-earned qualifications.

Accessing overdue certificates is a frustration that has plagued TVET college students for years and has even led to protests in severe cases.

In fact in 2018 Business Day reported that some students had waited for more than 10 years to receive their certificates.

"In April 2017 the department said it had released 233,000 outstanding National Certificate (Vocational) (NCV) out of a total of 236,000 certificates, some of which dated back to 2007."

If you find yourself in this boat don't become despondent.

Students waiting on overdue certificates should contact the office of the Registrar of Private TVET Colleges on 012 312 5296 and bring the matter to their attention.

Students can also contact the helpline number 0800 872 222 to follow up on their certificates.
