Transnet has various opportunities in their Faculty of Engineering Pipelines Department. They aim to recruit and develop a highly skilled workforce that helps grow Transnet business in order to improve productivity, profitability, and an employer's bottom line.

Transnet Apprenticeships Available

  • Plumber
    • NQF Level 3: Grade 11 or 12 Maths and Physical Science ((Added Advantage: Engineering Graphics design and Civil Technology) or N2 With Plumbing Theory, Building Science, Mathematics and Building Drawing.
    • All subjects to have been passed at 50% or more
  • Welder
    • NTC2 with 4 relevant trade subjects all passed or •Technical National Certificate Vocational Level 4 or higher with 7 subjects passed or
    • Technical Matric Certificate including Pure Mathematics and Physical Science passed with relevant trade theory passed • All subjects to have been passed at 50% or more.
  • Electro Mechanician
    • NTC2 with 4 relevant trade subjects all passed or
    • Technical National Certificate Vocational Level 4 or higher with 7 subjects passed or
    • Technical Matric Certificate including Pure Mathematics and Physical Science passed with relevant trade theory passed.
    • All subjects should be passed with the average of 50% and above
  • Fitter
    • NTC2 with 4 relevant trade subjects all passed or
    • Technical National Certificate Vocational Level 4 or higher with 7 subjects passed or
    • Technical Matric Certificate including Pure Mathematics and Physical Science passed with relevant trade theory passed
  • Mechanical Fitter
    • NTC2 with 4 relevant trade subjects all passed or
    • Technical National Certificate Vocational Level 4 or higher with 7 subjects passed or
    • Technical Matric Certificate including Pure Mathematics and Physical Science passed with relevant trade theory passed \
    • All subjects to have been passed at 50% and above
  • Electrician
    • NTC2 (National Vocational Certificate) with 4 relevant trade subjects all passed or
    • Technical National Certificate Vocational Level 4 or higher with 7 subjects passed or
    • Technical Matric Certificate including Pure Mathematics and Physical Science passed with relevant trade theory passed
