Are you a recent graduate looking to launch a career in the insurance sector? Standard Bank is now accepting applications for its 2025 Insurance Business Internship Programme, aimed at developing future professionals who are passionate about delivering excellent customer service and driving innovation in financial services.
Start Date: 1 September 2025
End Date: 31 August 2026
Monthly Stipend: R10 000 + Medical Aid
Locations: Johannesburg (Roodepoort) & Cape Town CBD
About the Standard Bank Internships
This dynamic 12-month internship offers graduates the opportunity to gain practical experience across the insurance value chain, with a focus on delivering customer-centric solutions. Under the mentorship of senior leaders, interns will be equipped with essential workplace skills and gain insight into the inner workings of one of South Africa’s leading financial institutions.
Interns will gain exposure to key areas such as:
- Customer service and sales
- Insurance operations and service delivery
- Project development and innovation
- Financial and regulatory frameworks
- Data analysis and decision-making
- Understanding and responding to customer needs

Skills You’ll Gain

Minimum Requirements
To be eligible for the Standard Bank Insurance Internship, applicants must:
Be a South African citizen
Be between 18 and 30 years old
Hold a completed tertiary qualification in one of the following:
BCom in Business Management, Economics, Finance, Human Resources
IT or related Information Systems qualifications
Be fluent in English (written and spoken)
Be computer literate
Have not been employed for more than 6 months
Not be currently registered in another internship or learnership
Not be studying at another institution
Locations
Successful candidates will be placed at one of the following Standard Bank offices:
- Johannesburg: Constantia Valley Office Park, Roodepoort
- Cape Town: Central Business District
