Section Head: Vetting Investigations

Applicants must:

  • Have a National Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree (minimum of NQF level 6) in Policing / Law Enforcement / Criminology / Intelligence or related fields of study - an applicable post graduate qualification in the above relevant fields, as well as relevant training and development may be an added advantage;
  • Have a minimum of three years proven appropriate managerial experience in field of the post;
  • Be fluent in at least two of the official languages, of which one must be English;
  • Have a valid motor vehicle drivers’ licence; and
  • Will be required to undergo a security vetting process to the level of Top Secret and obtain a security clearance of Top Secret within six months after appointment (if not already in possession of such a valid security clearance).

  • Have a recognised Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work obtained at an accredited institution;

Generic Requirements:

  • Be in possession of a Degree or Diploma (minimum of NQF 6) or equivalent qualification in Policing/ Law/ Criminology/ Commercial Law/ Forensic Investigation or other relevant fields of study;
  • Have a minimum of 3 years applicable managerial experience within the operational field of Policing/ Detective Service/Law enforcement and or Intelligence;
  • An applicable post graduate qualification in the above relevant fields, as well as relevant training and development in an Executive Development Programme and/or Project Management may be an added advantage;
  • Applicable training and development in the Operational Policing of Serious Organised Crime, Serious Commercial Crime and Serious Corruption Investigations, will be an advantage;
  • Must have successfully completed applicable functional learning programmes for the effective prevention, combating and investigation of serious crime;
  • Have specific working knowledge of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI) mandate and functions (SA Police Service Act 68 of 1995), operational application of common law and relevant legislation in particular the Prevention of Organised Crime Act (Act 121 of 1998), the Prevention and Combating of Corrupt Activities Act (Act 12 of 2004), and other offences mentioned in the Schedule (Section 16 (2) (IA) of the SA Police Service Act (Act 68 of 1995);
  • Be fluent in at least 2 official languages, of which one must be English;
  • Be in possession of at least a valid light motor vehicle drivers licence and;
  • Be subjected to an integrity screening and security clearance process and be cleared the level of Top Secret.

Section Head: Policy Analysis and Development

Applicants must:

  • Have a LLB / B Proc Degree (minimum of NQF level 6);
  • An applicable post graduate qualification in the above relevant fields, relevant training and development in Executive Development Programme as well as admission as an Attorney or Advocate with successful bar examination / pupillage examination will be an added advantage;
  • Have a minimum of three years’ appropriate managerial experience in the field of the post;
  • Be fluent in at least two of the official languages, of which one must be English;
  • Have a valid motor vehicle drivers’ licence; and
  • Will be required to undergo a security vetting process to the level of Top Secret and obtain a security clearance of Top Secret within six months after appointment (if not already in possession of such a valid security clearance).

Post Requirements:

  • Competency in the post specific functions of the post
  • A recognised Law Degree (B Juris / B Proc / LLB / BA Laws) with at least 4 years relevant experience in the field of the post, of which 3 years should be on managerial level.
  • Fluency in at least two official languages of which one must be English.
  • Be in possession of at least a valid light motor vehicle driver’s licence.
  • Must be proficient in providing both written and verbal legal advice and report writing.
  • Must have no criminal record or pending criminal or departmental cases.
  •  Applicants will be subjected to a vetting process which will include security screening and fingerprint verification and be cleared at the level of Top Secret.

  • Have a BCom (Hons) / Bachelor’s degree / Diploma with Accountancy / Internal Auditing / Auditing as major subjects or equivalent qualification (minimum of NQF level 6). An applicable post graduate qualification in internal audit fields, CIA professional certificate will an added advantage;
  • Have a minimum of three years appropriate managerial experience in the field of the post on managerial level (Audit Manager) specifically risk based and compliance audit. Extensive experience in risk based and compliance audit will be an added advantage;
  • Be a member of Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA);
  • Be fluent in at least two of the official languages, of which one must be English;

Additional Requirements:
