Minimum requirement to be selected, not negotiable:

  • Btech in Electrical Engineering Light Current with 18 months relevant work experience or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering Light with 18 months relevant work experience
  • South African Citizen
  • Affirmative Action Candidate

­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Documentation to accompany application, not negotiable:

  • Up to date CV accompanied by a cover letter
  • Certified copies of: BTech or National Diploma Qualification, transcripts/Academic records, Matric certificate
  • Testimonial from previous employer proving at least minimum of 18 months work experience
  • Monthly Stipend: R4000.00 until qualification is achieved


Training Content:

Electrical Trade Test Preparation

This course prepares the learner for the National Trade Test Assessment as per QCTO requirements.

The examination will be enrolled for at Department of Higher Education and Training (previously Department of Labour) or at a Private Assessment Centre approved by QCTO.

  • All course material is provided (Learner guide etc).
  • All equipment and material for practicals are provided.
  • All tools and PPE are provided.

Course Outcomes

Learn to:-

  • Install a conduit system and wire a domestic installation
  • Wire various motor starters
  • Perform testing on motors
  • Do fault finding on various motor starters

Course Duration

Full Time only, no part time:

  • 4 weeks, Monday to Friday

Note: A revision period of 4 days, prior to examination, is provided
