HORTGRO Bursary Programme

The HORTGRO Bursary Scheme is funded by HORTGRO as well as AgriSETA and Deciduous Fruit Industry Development Trust.

 

Agriculture, and the deciduous fruit industry specifically, is a major contributor to South Africa’s gross domestic product (GDP).

It is also responsible for providing many with employment.

Therefore, Hortgro believes it is necessary to provide support in discovering and training the best minds and developing a strong labour force.

Bursary applications open on 15 May and close on 15 August.

Bursaries will be awarded within the following fields of study:

  • Agricultural Economics
  • Biochemistry
  • Entomology and Nematology
  • Genetics
  • Horticulture
  • Microbiology
  • Plant Pathology
  • Research and Technical
  • Soil/ Water Science
